Tonight I stand humbled before you by the sincere outpouring of love that I feel emanating from you gathered here to celebrate with us as we mark another milestone in KC Yuma's history. This evening will forever be etched in my mind. This will be a story that for many years to come that I will be able to tell my daughter and maybe one day her child/children and it will be a story that will tell of the evening when mom'grandmother was installed as President of the Kiwanis Club Of Yuma (Bahamas) one of the greatest clubs of Division 22. IP Lt. Gov. Mel, I accept this cjhallenge knowing full well that the final test of a leader is that he leaves behind him in other men and women the conviction and will to carry on. IPP Harcourt has lead this Kiwanis Club exceptionally well. His leadership style was that of a high calibre, but coupled with the brilliant minds of Dist. Lt. Gov. James and Dist. Pres./Treasurer Sylvia and their vast knowledge of Kiwanis, we were bound to succeed. So this evening I say to you thank you, for you have brought new vision to Long Island and has made all of us work harder to achieve what is good for our fellow Long Islanders. My fellow Kiwanians, I thank you for all your support and look forward to your continued support as we seek to build on that firm foundation that IPP Harcourt has established. No task will be accomplished if we think of failing before it begins. Edward H. Harriman once said that it is never safe to look into the future with eyes of fer. We will face this challenge with renewed vigor and determination to succeed. It is my hope that as Kiwanians we will try our endeavor best to have an irrestible influence on the long Island community and not just the northern District of Long Island but Long Island as a whole and when this happens, they will see a people of excitement, a people of enthusiasm, a people of energy, a people of life and the effect will be so contagious, compelling and infectious that they too will feel the irrestible influence of KC Yuma. When people can see what we are doing, I am sure that God sees and also he will get the glory. But this irrestible influence can only happen if we are committed to service through our dedication to ensure that projects are carried out and carried out effectively.
